The British Association of Teachers of the Deaf invites you to a series of virtual events taking place with the support of the BATOD regions and nations to showcase the presenters from the postponed 2020 BATOD National Conference.

The interactive events will take place monthly during term-time via a virtual platform and will include presentations planned for the 2020 National Conference.

The sessions will also include live Q&A and will be available to delegates on demand for up to 21 days after the event. All aspects of the event will be captioned and have BSL interpretation.

Micronutrients - are essential elements required by organisms in small quantities throughout life to orchestrate a range of physiological functions to maintain health. Micronutrients are categorised into four main groups – trace elements, water soluble vitamins, fat-soluble vitamins and macro minerals.

Vitamin K is a fat-soluble vitamin that is essential for blood clotting properties. Many patients receiving long term Parenteral Nutrition in the United Kingdom may not be receiving adequate amounts of this essential vitamin.

To raise awareness of this consideration for all patients being prescribed Parenteral Nutrition, B Braun Medical Ltd. are hosting a webinar to highlight the topic.

We would like to invite you to the 2021 annual meeting of the British Neurosurgical Research Group (BNRG), which will be jointly hosted by the Academic Committee of the SBNS and Cardiff University.

The BNRG are a group of clinicians, scientists, nurses and healthcare professionals who are interested in all aspects of neurosurgical research.

The BNRG has historically been a forum for the presentation and discussion of ‘in-progress’ investigations and new study concepts. This year we have amended the date of the meeting so trainees wishing to apply for fellowships can present their proposed studies for discussion and feedback.


Abstract submission has now closed.

Authors who have been accepted to present an abstract, registration and payment must be completed by Monday 22nd November in order to be included in the programme.


Special rates have been negotiated on your behalf at Jurys Inn, Cardiff for the night of Thursday 25th November ONLY. Please ensure you add a room to your booking.

Accommodation is limited and will be allocated strictly on a first come first served basis.

Deadline for reservations: Thursday 21st October 2021


The dinner will take place within the hotel premises on Thursday 25th November. All attendees are encouraged to attend but we highly recommend that you pre-book your place to avoid disappointment and to ensure that you can be catered for appropriately.

This course is designed for neurosurgeons and otolaryngologists at senior trainee and consultant levels who are interested in the most recent developments in endoscopic surgery of the cranial base and pituitary gland.

This comprehensive two day course, limited to 12 delegates for six hands-on stations, is a presentation of minimally invasive endoscopic techniques for the anterior skull base and pituitary fossa.

Experts on the subject will present the anatomical, pathophysiological and technical aspects of surgery along with risks, benefits, and complications such as CSF leak and outcomes. Also endocrinology, neuro-radiology and anaesthetic aspects of endoscopic anterior skull base surgery will be covered.

Teaching is through hands-on cadaveric dissection with a 1:2 faculty to delegate ratio and lecture/video presentations including 3D anatomy of the paranasal sinus and skull base.

Simulation stations will also be available throughout the course, which will provide more opportunity for hands–on practice.

All catering is provided throughout the day including a sponsored course dinner.» more
