The meeting will be hosted by Aesculap Academia with the scientific programme being developed by the BSOA organising committee.

MEETING INFORMATION
The meeting will be in a hybrid format physically taking place at the OEC Sheffield, which is a brand new venue in the Steel City. Virtual attendance will also be possible for those who are unable to attend in person with a livestream available on the day.

Dr Svetlana Galitzine and Dr Nick Suarez, both from Oxford, will be the 'local' organisers, as the programme has evolved from the programme of the 2020 BSOA SSM meeting which should have been delivered in Oxford. A period of compensatory webinars in 2020 and 2021 ran to ensure continuing educational delivery by the BSOA.

GENERAL INFORMATION
We look forward to welcoming you to BCIG Conference 2022.

This year the conference will be held at the prestigious Cardiff City Hall, which lies in the heart of Cardiff's Civic Centre; an area of impressive buildings, landscaped gardens and broad tree-lined avenues. Cardiff’s Civic Centre is also conveniently close to transport links.

The meeting is being jointly hosted by both North Wales and South Wales Cochlear Implant Programmes and is taking place on Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th April, 2022.

The theme is ‘Being of Sound Health: The ‘Life Benefits’ of Auditory Implants’ and we are looking forward to receiving your free paper and poster abstracts around this theme. We will be welcoming submissions regarding all audio-vestibular implantable devices.

INTRODUCTION
We pleased to confirm the BAHNO Council have decided to run #BAHNO2022 as a live event on Friday 13th May at the Royal College of Physicians, London.

We are confident that we can deliver an engaging, educational and exciting meeting for all participants.

In 2022, we will focus on the theme: Health Inequity and Inequality in Head and Neck Cancer Care in the UK.

The event will run in a similar format to previous years with much anticipated elements such as the Blair Hesketh Lecture and BAHNO debate.

GENERAL INFORMATION
The conference will focus wholly on rehabilitation and will have dedicated sessions for those working with adults and those working with children, together with joint sessions appropriate for both groups. The theme of the conference for the paediatric delegates is early amplification and language development together with parental engagement. The adult delegates will have presentations and discussions including assessing and supporting pre-lingual adults and older adults, general caseload management and patient activation.

This conference is open to Teachers of the Deaf, Speech and Language Therapists and Hearing Therapists who are working in the community with children and adults using hearing aids or cochlear implants, together with rehabilitation professionals who work within cochlear implant teams.

This course is designed for neurosurgeons and otolaryngologists at senior trainee and consultant levels who are interested in the most recent developments in endoscopic surgery of the cranial base and pituitary gland.

This comprehensive two day course, limited to 12 delegates for six hands-on stations, is a presentation of minimally invasive endoscopic techniques for the anterior skull base and pituitary fossa.

Experts on the subject will present the anatomical, pathophysiological and technical aspects of surgery along with risks, benefits, and complications such as CSF leak and outcomes. Also endocrinology, neuro-radiology and anaesthetic aspects of endoscopic anterior skull base surgery will be covered.

Teaching is through hands-on cadaveric dissection with a 1:2 faculty to delegate ratio and lecture/video presentations including 3D anatomy of the paranasal sinus and skull base.

Simulation stations will also be available throughout the course, which will provide more opportunity for hands–on practice.

All catering is provided throughout the day including a sponsored course dinner. » more
